E. Hannum Cemetery Location: About 1.4 miles south of Red Hill, Virginia, down the Railroad track. Albemarle County This old house stands where the original frame house stood. There seem to be no records of the date of that old house. It was moved on rollers from this location, quite some distance to another hill on the farm. Since then it has burned and nothing remains except the old rock chimney. Mrs. Oliver, one of the oldest residents of this section, says that as a child she had been told that Thomas Jefferson, as a boy, visited the old frame house. In later years he and LaFayette, who was visiting here then, were entertained at the brick house. The family cemetery at this place is on a hill north of the house. There are eleven unmarked graves.
