All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Albemarle Co., VAGenWeb Archives, Deeds and Land Records James GEORGE to Benjamin THACKER, deed of bargain & sale, 300 acres, 17 Nov 1766 [p.] 353 [...] [margin notes] George to Thacker This Indenture Made this Seventeeth [sic] day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Six Between James George of the County of Goochland of the one part and Benjamin Thacker of Albemarle County of the other part Witnesseth that the said James George for and in Consideration of Thirty three pounds of Lawful money of Virginia by him the said Benjamin Thacker, to him the said James George, in hand paid before the Sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt, whereof he the said James George doth hereby Acknowledge, and thereof doth. Acquitt and Discharge the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs Executors and Administrators, Hath Granted, Bargained Sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed, and by these Presents doth Grant, Bargain [page break] [p.] 354 Sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs and Assigns one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing by Estamation three hundred Acres be the same more or less, lying and being in Albemarle County on the East side of the North River, on both sides of a Branch of Bellengers Creek call'd the Bold Branch, and being bounded by the lines of Robert Hardee, William Moon, John Robinson & John Bellamy which said Tract of Land was Purchas'd by the said James George of Robert Hardee, as may appear by the Records of the County Court of Albemarle, And the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof, with the Appurtenances [next line inserted between lines] To have and to hold the said Messuage plantation & Tract of Land with the appurtenances unto the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs and Assigns forever, and the said James George his Heirs &c the said Messuage plantation and Tract of Land with the Appurtenances , unto him the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs and Assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents against the Claim and Demand of him the said James George his Heirs or Assigns or any other whatsoever, and the said James George his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns, doth Covenant Promise and Agree to and with the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs & Ass.s that the premises and every Part thereof with the Appurtenances are free and Discharg [sic] from all manner of Incumberances, and that the said Benjamin Thacker his Heirs &c for and Notwithstanding any Act or thing by him the said James George his Heirs or Assigns or any Other person Commited done or Suffer'd shall or Lawfully may for ever hereafter Have hold use Occupy Possess and Enjoy the same and every part thereof with the Appurtenances, without the Lawful Lett Molestation or reaction[?] of him the said James George his heirs or Assigns or any other person Whatsoever.
