This Indenture made this third day of July in the year of our lord 
one thousand seven hundred and ninety Seven Between Benjamin Thacker 
of the County of Albemarle of the one part & Nathaniel Thacker of the same 
County in the other part 
Witnesseth that the said Benjamin and Mathar [sic] his Wife in consideration 
of the sum of Ten pounds in hand paid to the said Benjamin and Mathar his wife 
the Receipt whereof we do hereby Acknowledge, and have granted bargained and 
sold unto the said Nathanuel Thacker one certain tract or parcel of land 
containing 40 Acres lying and being in the county of Albemarle on the waters 
of Moore's Creek and bounded by the lands of the said Benjamin Thacker Edward 
Eastham Micajah Wheeler & Nathaniel Thacker's lines be the same more or less 
Which s.d lands the said Benjamin Thacker & Mathar his wife doth convey unto 
the said Nathnuil Thacker with all houses woods waters & other appertenances 
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the lands 
& premises with the appertenanses unto the said Nathanual Thacker and his 
heirs and Assigns for the only proper use and behoof of the said Nathinuel 
Thacker his heirs & Assings [sic] forever and the said Benjamin Thacker & 
Marthiu his Wife doth doth by these presents for themselves and their heirs 
covenant that them and

they shall and will forever warrant and defend the said lands and premises 
with the Appertenanses to the said Nathaniel Thacker his heirs and Assings 
against the Claim of the said Benjamin Thacker & Martha his wife their heirs 
and all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Nathanuel 
Thacker his heirs and Assings shall and will warrant and forever defend by 
these presents 
Witness whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and seals the day and year 
above Written
