MARTIN and wife Sally to John DOLLINS; Albemarle County, Virginia; Deed Book 24; page 432 (1824) This Indenture made and entered into this the eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty four by and between William H Martin & Salley his wife of the County of Albemarle and State of Virginia of the one part, and John Dollens of the same County & State aforesaid of the other part: Witnesseth that the said William H Martin & Sally his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars of current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said John Dollens (the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof, and every part and parcel thereof doth clearly exonerate acquit and discharge the said John Dollens his exors admrs & assigns and every of them forever by these presents) They the said William H Martin and Salley his wife, Hath granted, bargained, sold aliened & confirmed unto the said John Dollins his heirs and assigns forever, all their undivided interest in and to a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Albemarle, and State aforesaid adjoining, and bounded by the lands of William Piper, Richard Richardson, and the heirs of Joseph Field Decd., being the same tract of land which was owned and inherited by Richard Dollins Decd., and of which said Richard Dollens died possessed, and which said undivided interest has descended to the said William & Sally his wife as heirs and distributees of the estate of said Richard Dollens Decd. and which said interest is one third part, of the whole tract; and which said whole tract contains one hundred & ten acres, be the same more or less To Have and to hold the undivided interest in the tract of land aforesaid, and all other the premises hereby granted, bargained and sold, and all and every part and parcel thereof, together with all the rents issues and profits of the same, or any part or parcel thereof, incident belonging, or in any manner appertaining thereto: and also all and every the estates, rights title interest and claim of them the said William H Martin & Sally his wife in, and to the said tract of land and every part and parcel thereof, unto the said John Dollins his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Dollins his heirs and assigns forever- And the said William H Martin and Sally his wife doth hereby grant for them and their heirs that they the said William H Martin & Salley his wife and their heirs, the said undivided interest or the one third of the tract of land aforesaid, unto the said John Dollens his heirs and assigns, against them the said William H Martin & Salley his wife and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all and every other person & persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant & forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said William H Martin & Sally his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals this day & date first above written. Given under our hands & seals this 19th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty four Jos Coffman Ro. Brooks Albemarle County Sc We Joseph Coffman & Robert Brooks Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Sally Martin the wife of William H Martin parties to a certain deed bearing date on the eighteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred & twenty four and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid, and being examined by us privily and apart from her husband, and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her, she, the said Sally Martin acknowledged the same to be her act & deed, and declared that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same, and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals this 19th day of October one thousand eight hundred & twenty four Jos Coffman Ro. Brooks In Albemarle County Court Office the 22nd day of October 1824 This Indenture was presented to me in said office the date above, and being duly certified, thereupon the same together with the relinquishment of Dower of Mrs. Sally Martin was admitted to record Teste Alex Garrett C.A.C.
