Sale of 42 ½ acres to Charles WINGFIELD, Senior from Edward and Mildred MOORE

This Indenture made this fourteenth day of January in the year of our lord
Christ One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Between Edward MOORE and Mildred
his wife of the County of Albemarle of the One part and Charles WINGFIELD Senr.
of the same County of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Edward MOORE for
and in Consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds current of Virginia to him
in hand paid by the said Charles WINGFIELD the Receipt whereof the said Edward
MOORE doth hereby confess & acknowledge they the said Edward MOORE and Mildred
have granted bargained and sold aliened [illegible] released and confirmed unto
the said Charles WINGFIELD his Heirs and assigns forever all that tract and
parcel of land containing by Estimation Forty two and a half acres be the same
more or less situate lying and being in the County of Albemarle formerly the
property of Hezekiah JONES and adjoining the lands of the said Charles
WINGFIELD, John SOWELL, Castleton HARPER, and of Christopher WINGFIELD and also
all the Estate Right, title, Interest, Claim and demand whatsoever of them the
said Edward & Mildred MOORE, of in or to the same premises. To have and to hold
this tract or parcel of Land Containing by Estimation forty two and a half acres
be the same more or less with the appurtenances thereto belonging to the only
proper use & behalf of the said Charles WINGFIELD his heirs and assigns forever,
and the said Edward MOORE for himself his Heirs and assigns Doth Covenant &
grant to and with the said Charles WINGFIELD his Heirs and Assigns that the said
Charles WINGFIELD his Heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at
all times hereafter peaceable and quietly have hold occupy possess and Enjoy all
and singular the said premises above mentioned to be hereby granted with the
appurtenances without the Let trouble hindrance molestation interruption or
denial of him the said Edward MOORE his heirs and assigns and of all and Every
other person or persons whatsoever  claiming or to claim by  from or under him
them or any of them, and the said Edward MOORE and his Heirs and against all and
every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Chas. WINGFIELD Sen. His
Heirs and assigns Shall Warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness
whereof I to these presents my hand and Seal have Set and affixed the Day and
Year above Written.

Memorandum. That on the day and year within written full possession and
[illegible] was had and taken of the land & premises within granted by the
within named Edward MOORE and by him delivered over unto the within named
Charles WINGFIELD to hold to him his Heirs and assigns according to the contents
and true meaning of the within written Witness my hand the day and year within
