(Patents No. 26, 1747-1748, p. 678) On 10 May 1759, Henry Thomas, Tillotson Parish to Thomas Robinson for 20 pounds 172 acres Rock Island Creek South of the Fluvanna River (James) adj. Edward Thomas, wit: Jno & Wm Thomas, Jno. Provemen, (Albemarle Co Deed Book 2, page 110.) On 20 August 1747, Edward Thoms patented 140 acres in Albemarle County on the lower Millstone Branch of Rock Island Creek. (Patents No. 26, 1747- 1748, p. 94) In 1749, John Thomas patented 100 acres in Albemarle County on the South side of the Fluvanna River (James) joining Majr. Allen Howards back line. (Patents 28, 1746-9, p. 573.) (Major Allen Howards back line is on Rock Island Creek.)
