  I do hereby certify that Jacob Alford, late a soldier in the Seventh Division 
Regiment served therein from the 1st day of January 1777 until the 5th day of 
March 1779 when he was discharged in consequence of a wound which he rec'd at 
the Battle of Brandywine and rendered him incapable of service.
