Item 2nd: I give and bequeath unto my son, Collin Catterton, all my land lying and being in the County of Albemarle, also one negro man named Harry and one negro woman named Rachel, one negro child named Judy, one boy named Carson, one negro child named Richard, and one negro child named Hardena, and their increase, choice of two feather beds, with summer and winter furniture belonging to them, two cows and calves and six sheep of his choice to him and his heirs forever. Item 3rd: I give unto my son, Nimrod Catterton, all the land which I hold in the County of Greene, one negro man named Nace, one negro woman named Tanner(?), one negro girl named Mariah and their increase, also two cows and calves, two feather beds with summer and winter furniture belonging to the same, six sheep of his choice to him and his heirs forever. Item 4th: I give and bequeath unto my grand children namely, Benjamin H Williams, John M P Williams, and William J Williams, being sons of my daughter Mary, ten dollars each and no more of my estate. Item 5th: I give and bequeath to my son-in-law, Joseph Williams, one dollar and fifty cents and no more of my estate. Item 6th: I give and bequeath to son-in-law, William Durrett, one dollar and twenty five cents of my estate and no more. Item 7th: I desire my executor, herein, after named, to sell to the highest bidder, Benjamin, Joseph, Jerry, Sarah, Frank, Suzeiah, one of them for cash, to pay my just debts, the rest due on a credit of twelve months, also all the remainder of my property not named in this my last will and testament (except my table furniture which I desire to be equally divided between my two sons, Collin and Nimrod Catterton), namely the rest of my sheep, cattle, hogs, horses, household and kitchen furniture, plantation utensils, blacksmith’s tools, and all other articles not mentioned herein, to be sold on a credit of twelve months all sums over five dollars, all under for cash. Item 8th: I desire that my two old women Hannah & Nancy shall be set up the lowest bidder among any children. Item 9th: I desire that the whole proceeds after my just debts are paid shall be equally divided among my children hereafter named: William Catterton, Nancy Burrus, Elizabeth Parrott, Benjamin Catterton, Eliza Sherman(?), Collin Catterton and Nimrod W Catterton, to them and their heirs forever. Item 10th: I give and bequeath unto my sons, Collin Catterton and Nimrod Catterton, to be equally divided among them, all the crop which shall be on hand at my decease. Item 11th: I do make, constitute and ordain my son Collin Catterton, executor of this my last will and testament, and do revoke and disannul all wills and testaments theretofore made by me, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affirmed my seal, this the first day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine.
