Michael Daugherty of Albemarle County Parish - written 24 Aug 1766 
I leave the child my wife is now with if it be a boy all my lands to him he 
paying to each of my daughters namely Margaret, Sarah and Mary twenty pounds but 
if she has a girl my desire is that all my lands, good chattels and household 
goods to be equally divided among my wife and children while she remains a widow 
and if  she marries that the said estate & children shall be under the care and 
management of my executors. I apooint my dearly beloved father Hugh Daugherty 
and my friend John Handerfor my executors.
