                         Will of William Sandridge

 January 16, 1776
 Albemarle County, VA   

     I, William Sandridge of Albemarle Co., VA, weak in body, sound mind, 
    make this last will & testament. Soul to God, body decently interred. 
    After just debts paid, 
    I give to wife Betty, Negro Peter, choice of beds & grey horse and
    safe side saddle and Agg & Hanner during her widowhood, till youngest
    children, John, Ann and Susannah come of age, all to work together until 
    debts paid, then all to be divided among all my children that remains except my
    land, 278 acres, part of plantation where on I live and 1 bay colt that I 
    give  my son John, my wife & children to have equally part of what is left.Viz.
    Children  Mary wife of Lt Berry Lane, Elizabeth wife of William Row,
    Stephen, Ann wife of Gideon Carr, William, Milly, Ann and Susannah. My Wife
    Betsy, Litttleberry Lane, William & John Sandidge of Albemarle Co.
    my Executrix &  Executors.

William SANDIDGE was born in abt.1715 Spotsylvania, VA. His will was signed on 1 
Jan 1776 in Albemarle Co.,Va.. He died July 1777 in Albemarle Co.,Va.. 
Elizabeth GRAVES was born on 14 Feb 1720 in Spotsylvannia Co., Va.. She signed a 
will on 11 Feb 1822 in Green Co., Ky.. She died on 6 Jan 1826 in Green Co., Ky.. She 
was buried in Wilson Hill, Liletown, Ky. Family Cemetery. 
Children were: 
    Mary SANDRIDGE was born in 1748 in Spotsylvannia Co., Va.. She died in 1809 
in Fluvanna co., Va.. + Littleberry Lane
ii. Elizabeth SANDRIDGE was born in 1750 in Spotsylvannia Co., Va.. She died in 
Fluvanna co., Va.. + William Rowe
iii. Stephen SANDRIDGE was born in 1752 in Spotsylvannia Co., Va.. He died after 3 
Jul 1821 in Franklin Co., Tn.. + Sarah Henderson
       1. Benjamin Thurmond Sandridge ,born 1818
iv. William SANDRIDGE was born in 1754 in Spotsylvannia Co., Va.. He died in 1787 
in Albemarle Co.,Va.. He served in the military in American Rev.. + Susannah Maupin

v. Ann SANDRIDGE was born 1756, Albemarle Co.,Va.Ann died in Dickson Co.,

vii. Capt. John SANDIDGE was born on 25 Nov 1760 in Albemarle Co.,Va.. He died 
on 27 Jul 1832 in Green Co., Ky.. +Mary Wood
viii. Nancy Ann Graves SANDRIDGE was born in 1759 in Albemarle Co.,Va.. Wife of 
JOHN THURMAN of Albemarle County, VA
ix. Susannah SANDRIDGE was born in 1762 in Albemarle Co.,Va..Wife of William 
THURMAN of Albemarle County, VA
   Known Children at this time: John Thurman, William Thurman and Graves Thurman. 
Graves could be the son of Susannah's sister, Nancy ann Sandridge and John Thurman.

Note* John Sandridge dropped the r in his name when he moved to Virginia. Sandidges
Virginia was named after him. His family alsodropped the r in their name to be Sandidge.
