In Manner and form following. Revoking all and every other Will or Wills formerly by me made, First & Principally I recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God That gave it, hoping in and Through The Merits of My Blessed Saviour to _?_ full Pardon for all my past Sins, and My Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buryed In a Decent manner at The D_?_ of my Executrix & Executors here after to be Named, and as Touching (?) Worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to Indow me with. I give and bequeath in mannor and form following. ---- First my Will is that all my Just Debts be paid.... Imprimis(?) I lend to beloved Wife Sarah Thompson My Plantation whereon I now live with two Hundred and Forty five Acres, at the Lower End of my Track and all my Slaves and personal Estate as long as she shall continue My Widow, provided She shall Take Care to Maintain and provide for my Daughter Frances Thompson as Long as she shall Live, and Maintain and School My Two Youngest Sons Leonard and _?_ John Thompson and in case my said Wife shall Marry or it is the Will of God to call her hence that then And in that Case my Will and Desire is that all the afore Mentioned Estate Other than What I shall hereafter Except shall be Equally divided Between my son Roger Thompson my son George Thompson, my son Leonard Thompson my son John Thompson _?_ them and their heirs for ever.... Item. I give to my Beloved son Roger Thompson one Silver Tankard to him and his heirs for Ever.... Item. I give unto my Grand Daughter Sarah Claiborne Woodson one Negro girl Annis to her and her heirs for Ever to be Delivered to her by my Ex_ or Ex_ when she shall Marry or comes to the years of Twenty One and in case she shall dye without Lawfull Isshew my Will and Desire is the said Negro Annis shall be Divided as afore said Between sons Roger, George, Leonard & John Thompson.... Item. I give to my Son Roger Thompson two Negros to Wit (?) York and Lettice provided he will Take at the Death of his Mother my Daughter Frances Thompson and provide for her as he ought to do and in case he fails or refuses that then And in that case I give the said Negros to Either of my afore Mentioned Sons that my Daughter Frances shall chose to Live with.... Item. My Will and Desire is that five Hundred Acres of Land the upper Part of my afore said Tract be sold by my Executor and the Money Arising >From the sail to be paid in discharge of my just debts... Also the above mentioned Two Hundred forty five Acres Lent to my Wife To be sold at her Death and the Moneys arising from the sail to be Equally Divided amongst my before mentioned sons Roger, George, Leonard and John Thompson.... Lastly I do by these Presents Consititute and Appoint my Loveing Wife Sarah Thompson Executrix with my Loveing brother (?) George Thompson and my Loveing Sons Roger Thompson & George Thompson Executors of this my Last Will and Testament as Witness my Hand and Seal This Twenty third day of October in the year one thousand seven hundred and sixty three. This Will was presented in Court and proved by the Oath of Patrick Napier a Witness thereto & at a court held for said county the XIII (?) June 1765 was further proved by the Oath of Wm Payne a witness but did not hear him publish the same, Anne Davis being sworn saith she heard the decedant publish it at the time Patrick Napier was called upon to sign and Ordered to be recorded. On the Motion of Roger Thompson who made Oath according to Law probate is granted & on giving Security whereupon he with Peter H.
