Take a right on Watahala Lane. Cemetery is close to Harry Bennett’s farm. The Cemetery is not maintained at present. Nannie B., dau. of JR and SM Bennett, Age 2 yrs. Elvary C., dau. of JL and SM Bennett, Mar. 18, 1867 – Nov 4, 1889 In Memory of Rebecca d Persinger Who Died May 1855, Age 50 Years. Rock (R.P.) George L. Huffman, Nov. 10, 1940, aged 64 yrs. 4 mon. 5 days (metal marker from Loving Funeral Home) In all there are approximately 47 graves in this cemetery. The Work Progress Administration Papers, wrote in the 1930’s list other individuals buried in this cemetery that Mr. Stull did not report. They are as follows: Katherine Bennett, Departed This Life A. 1853 William Bennett (son of Jacob) d. about 1850 J L Bennett d. July 13, 1926 Age 86 Yrs. (He fought in the War Between the States and was wounded in the hip in the 7 day fight at Richmond and lost his right arm in Battle of Cloyd’s Mountain in 1864.) Richard Fridley d. 1908 Age 85 yrs. Rimsley Kimberlin 1912, approxiamtely 85 yrs. He was the last to operate Hooks Mill. Mrs. Peggie Kimberlin, wife of Rimsley, d. 1913 approximately 80 yrs. Ely Persinger, d. 1903 approximately 85 yrs. He was an officer for the Confederate Government commissioned to arrest “bushwackers”. Jacke Tingler d. approximately 1897 80 yrs. Mrs. Cindy Tingler, wife of Jake Tingler d 1895 approximately 75 yrs. Old Mrs. Litty Persinger, wife of Ely Persinger d. 1860 Dave Fridley d 1895 Mrs. Lydia Fridley, wife of Dave Fridley d. 1900 George King Mrs. Nancy King, wife of George King d. 1871 Patsy Bush, wife of Andy Bush d. 1900 The WPA’s note that Mrs. Litty Persinger and Mr.s Cindy Tinger and Mrs. Lydia Fridley, spoke the Tuckahoo dialect.
