Mr. Kennedy was born in Staunton in March 1893, a son of the late George W. and Nellie Fox Kennedy. He was a retired C&O carman and was a member of Central Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Belton Kennedy; two sons, O. B. Kennedy, Jr., St. Paul, MN., George C. Kennedy, Washington, DC; six daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Elizabeth) Gruetzner, Rochester, NY, Mrs. Bert (Kathleen) Kerr, Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. A. T. (Ann) Meeks, Clifton Forge, Mrs. W. N. (Mildred) Bradley, Newport News, Miss Shirley Kennedy, Hyattsville, MD, and Mrs. Joseph H. (Barbara) Conto, also of Hyattsville. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. May Dull, Clifton Forge, Mrs. Anne Hadson, Black Mountain, NC, three brothers, C. G. and R. L. Kennedy, Clifton Forge, and Sylvester Kennedy, Black Mountain, NC; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
