In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the tenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and seventeen. MEADE AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA JUNE COURT 1816 DEED BOOK NUMBER 24 PAGE 246 This indenture made and entered into this 22nd day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen between Richard E. Meade and Francis his wife of the county of Amelia of the one part and Benjamin L. Meade of the county aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that whereas the said Richard E. and Francis C. are entitled under the last will and testament of his father the late Everard Meade deceased to one moiety in remainder (after the determination of the life estate therein of his widow and relict erected therein by the said last will and testament) of a certain mill situated in the county of Amelia aforesaid on the waters of Flat Creek and known by the name of Meade's Mill and whereas the said Richard E and Francis C. are desirous to sell the same and the said Benjamin L. is willing to purchase it, these presents therefore witness that the said Richard E. and Francis C. for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand, six-hundred and sixty-six dollars sixty-six cents current money of Virginia to them in hand paid or secured to be paid at or before the sealing and delivering hereof hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said Benjamin L. his heirs and assigns forever all the estate right, title and interest of them the said Richard E. and Francis C. in and to the said mill situated as aforesaid on Flat Creek and its appurtenances together with all the waters, lands, and houses thereto in any way appurtenant or belonging and the reversions, reversions, remainder or remainders of all and singular the said mill and premises unto him the said Benjamin L his heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold, the estate title and interest in and to the said mill and its appurtenances herein before granted or interested to be bargained and sold unto him the said Benjamin L. his heirs and assigns forever and the said Richard E. and Francis C. his wife for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators the above granted interest and estate in and to the aforesaid mill and its appurtenance unto the said Benjamin L his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of themselves, their heirs or assigns and all other persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
