The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ DEED AMOS, JOHN AND ELIZABETH MEADOR TO SAMUEL MEADOR AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA JULY COURT 1818 DEED BOOK 25 This indenture made the fourth day of February, eighteen hundred and eighteen between Amos Meador, John Meador, and Elizabeth Meador of Amelia County of the one part and Samuel Meador of the said county of the other part witnesseths that the said Amos, John, and Elizabeth for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars current money of Virginia by the said Samuel Meador to the said Amos, John and Elizabeth in hand paid doth hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargain and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Samuel Meador and to his heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing one acre lying and being in the county aforesaid beginning at a corner fence of Pleasant Seay and the estate of Isaac Meador and thence running with the said line to a pine tree thence across to Willis Vaughan's line upon the path with the new line to make the said acre and thence with the said Vaughan line to the beginning with all and singular the appurtenances therewith belonging and all the estate rights, title, and interest claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Amos, John, and Elizabeth of in and to the said land and premises and every part and parcel thereof and revisions and revisions, remainders and issues and profits there of and every part and parcel there of to have and to hold the said land and premises with there and every of their appurtenances unto the said Samuel Meador to the only proper use and behalf of turn the said Samuel Meador, his heirs and assigns forever and the said agree with the said Samuel Meador that the said Amos, John, and Elizabeth their heirs and executors shall and will warrant and forever defend the lands and promises and persons whatsoever that may claim or demand any part of the said lands under the said Amos, John and Elizabeth in witness where of the said Amos Meador, John Meador and Elizabeth Meador hath here unto set hands and seals this day and year above signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Amelia county to wit. W. Rodophil Jeter and Dabney Miller magistrates of the aforesaid county do hereby certify that Amos Meador, John Meador and Elizabeth Meador parties to the within conveyance have duly acknowledged the same before us on the fourth day of February eighteen hundred and eighteen and desired us to certify the same to the clerk of the county court of Amelia in order that the said conveyance may be recorded as witness our hands and seals this 4th day of July 1818. ----------------------- Submitted by: George N. Parker Jr. g.c.parker@prodigy.net DEED LUCY MEADOR TO DABNEY MILLER AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA NOVEMBER COURT 1820 DEED BOOK 25 This indenture made and entered into this thirty first day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty between Lucy Meador widow and relic of Anderson Meador dec'd and Lawson Meador and Kitty Meador heirs of the said Anderson and Lucy Meador of the county of Amelia of the one part and Dabney Miller of the said county of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Lucy Meador, Lawson Meador, and Kitty Meador for and in consideration of the just and full sum of thirty one dollars and fifty cents lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid as or before the _________ and delivery of these the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and by these presents doth gr4ant bargain and sell and convey unto the said Dabney Miller one certain tract or parcel of land containing three acres and a half acre it being a part of the land the said Anderson Meador dec'd possessed of lying and being in the county of Amelia situated and bounded as followeth beginning at a new corner hickory in said mill? on said Meador's line running thence with their said line north eighty four and a half degrees west forty poles to a corner in their line thence their line north fourteen degrees east twenty eight and a quarter poles to a new corner pine thence a new line south forty six and a half degrees east forty six poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said land and premises together with all the appurtenances thereto __ any more belonging unto the said Dabney Miller his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns forever the said Lucy Meador, Lawson Meador and Kitty Meador doth by these presence for themselves their heirs, executors, administrators or assigns warrant and forever defend a full and complete right and title in fee simple in and to the aforesaid land and premises against the lawful claim, claims or demands of any person or persons whosoever. In witness whereof we do herewith set our hands and seals this day and year first above written.
