ORANGE AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA AUGUST COURT 1827 DEED BOOK NUMBER 28 This indenture made the second day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between Kittury Wright of the one part and Matthew W. Orange of the other part both of Amelia county. Witnesseth that the said Kittury Wright in consideration of one hundred and forty dollars of lawful money of the commonwealth to her in hand paid by the said Matthew W. Orange at or before the insealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said Matthew W. Orange his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land containing by survey twenty seven and a half acres (be the same more or less) and bounded by the lands of said Matthew W. Orange, Jane Pollard, and Wiliam Wood Senior it being a part of a tract of land formerly owned by Thomas Wright dec'd which she the said Kittury inherited after the death of said Thomas her father. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the tenants, ____?_____ and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof and the said Kittury Wright for herself and her heirs the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the premises and appurtenance before mentioned into the said Matthew W. Orange his heirs and assigns free from the claim of her the said Kittury Wright and her heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever; shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Kittury Wright hath hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year first above written her Kittury (X) Wright (seal) mark Amelia County to wit We Rodophil Jeter and Dabney Miller justices of the peace in the county aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Kittury Wright a party to a certain deed bearing date on the 2nd of July eighteen hundred and twenty seven and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to the clerk of the county court of Amelia, in order that the said deed may be recorded. Parker Jr. g.c.parker@prodigy.net DEED PLEASANT SEAY AND WIFE TO AMOS MEADOR AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA JUNE COURT 1828 DEED BOOK NUMBER 28 PAGE 316 This indenture made this twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between Pleasant Seay and Elizabeth his wife of the county of Amelia and state of Virginia of the one part and Amos Meador of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Pleasant Seay and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and eighty four dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Amos Meador the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge hat granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Amos Meador one certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the county of Amelia containing eighty five and a half acres bounded by the following lines, beginning at Samuel Meador's corner in John Wright's line, thence with said Wright's line north eighty eight degrees west ninety eight poles to an open corner (pile of stones) in a ___?____ old field, thence his line due south thirty eight poles to an open corner, thence his line north thirty six degrees west seventy five poles to his and Richard Ligon's corner on Ligon's Mill Road, thence Ligon's line south forty nine degrees west fifty poles to a corner pine on the north side of the mill road, thence his line south fourteen and a half degrees east sixty poles to an open corner in an old field thence his line south seventy seven and a half degrees east one hundred and fifty poles to his corner pointer in Meador's line, thence with Meador's line north fifteen degrees east sixty eight poles to an elbow, thence north thirty one and a half degrees east eighteen and a half poles to Samuel Meador's open corner thence with his line north twenty nine and a half degrees west nineteen poles to the beginning. With reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders yearly and other rents, issues and profits and all the right title and interest of them the said Pleasant Seay and Elizabeth his wife and every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said land and premises with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto and anywise appertaining or belonging unto the said Amos Meador, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns and the said Pleasant Seay and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their heirs, executors, administrators or assigns the aforesaid land and premises and every part thereof unto the said Amos Meador, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns a full and complete right and title thereto against the claim, claims or demands of all and every person or persons do by these presents warrant and forever defend.
