Jordan/Meador Deed, 1757 - Amelia County, Virginia Deed - Jonas Jordan to Benjamin Meador - 28 July 1757 Amelia County, Virginia Deed Book 6, Page 72 This Indenture made this 28th Day of July in the thirty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second, and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and Fifty seven. Between Jonas Jordan of the County of Amelia of the one part and Benj. Meador of the County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jonas Jordan hath given granted Bargained sold aliened conferred and Firmely made over unto the said Benj. Meador and his Heirs and assigns a part of that Tract Piece or Parsele of Land situate lying and being in the County of Amelia. Containing one hundred and twenty two acres on the head of Sandy creek on both sides of the Road being the Land which was Granted to Jason Meador by Pattent bearing date at Williams Burg the twelfth day of January One Thousand seven hundred and Forty seven and by the said Pattent of Record in the Secretarys office of this County Relation being thereunto had may more fully appear and was by the said Jason Meador sold and conveyed to John Wright by Indenture bearing Date the Twenty fifth Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Fifty one as by the said Indenture of Record in the Court of the said County of Amelia Relatiion being thereunto had may more fully appear according to the known and ancient and reputed bounds and as the same is Described and bounded and by the aforementioned Pattent and was by the said John Wright sold and Conveyed to the said Jonas Jordan by Indenture Bearing Date the twenty fifth day of June one thousand seven hundred and fifty five as by the said Indenture of Record in the Court of the said County of Amelia with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Benj. Meador, his heirs to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Benj Meador his heirs and assigns forever and the said Jonas Jordan for himself his heirs Executors and adm doth Convenant and Grant to and with the said Benj. Meador his Heirs and assigns by these presents that it shall and may be Lawfull to & for the said Benj. Meador his heirs and assigns from time to time and at all times for Ever here after peaceably and quietly To have Hold occupy possess and Enjoy the said premises and the Right and Title of said Jonas Jordan without any Lawfull suite trouble molestation or Interruption of him the said Jonas Jordan his heirs Executors adm or assigns or any of them or any other Person or Persons Lawfully Claiming or to Claim only from or under them or any of them and the said Jonas Jordan for himself and his heirs the said Premises as before Intended and mensions unto the said Benj. Meddler and his heirs against him the said Jonas Jordan and his heirs and all Claiming or to Claim by from or under them or any of them shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend by these Present In Witness whereof the said Jonas Jordan hath hereunto sett his hand and seal the Day and year fixed above. written Signed Sealed and Jonas Jordan /Seal/ Delivered In Presents of Jas Edmondson John Royall John Haynard Memorandom That on the twenty third day of July one Thousand seven hundred and Fifty seven peaceable and quiet Possession of the Land and premises granted and sold was had & Taken by the within named Jonas Jordan & by him Taken and Delivered unto the within named Benj. Meador as the usual symbols of Livery and Seizen according to the Force and Effect of the within Deed Signed Sealed and Delivered In the Presents of us At a Court held for Amelia County July the 28th 1757 This Indenture & the memorandum endorsed were acknowledged by the within named Jonas Jordan and ordered to be recorded.
