VA Amelia County, Virginia, Deed Book 8, Page 625 This Indenture make the Seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty five Between Joseph Pollard of Amelia County of the one part & John Wayles of Charles City County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph Pollard in consideration of the sum of Fourty two Poun =ds Fifteen Shiling to him paid by the said John Wayles, hath gran- ted bargained and Sold aliened and Confirmed unto the said Wayles his heirs &afsigns Fifty Seven acres of Land lying in Amelia Cou- nty being part of the Tract whereon the said Joseph Pollard now dw =ells & Bounded as followeth, to wit, begining at a Corner white oak of Shackleford Joining Bagbey and Pollard thence on their lines South 29 ½ degrees West at Eighteen poles crofs Pollards Spring Branch one hundred & eighty Poles to a Corner Hickory on Eas tons Path. Thence a new Line South thirty nine & half degrees Crofs abald Branch at 24 poles East at Twenty two Poles / Crofs the said Branch twice Fifty Four Poles &ahalf to Pinters, Thence North twenty nine and a half degrees East at Twenty Poles crofs the aforesaid Branch at one hunded Fifty Six Poles crofs Pollards Spring Branch One Hundred & ninety poles to a small white oak & hickory corner on the Line of Shackelford thence on this line North Fiftytwo degrees West Sixty five Poles to the Place begun at and whatsoever to the said Land and premises belonging or appear taining: and also all the Rights title Interest Estate claim & demand whatsoever of him the said Joseph Pollard of first to the Same.
