The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** GEORGE the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of Faith TO ALL TO WHOM these presents shall come Greetings, KNOW that for divers good causes and Considerations bute more Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of SEVEN POUNDS of good and Lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia, WE HAVE Given Granted and Confirmed and by these present for us our Heirs and Successors Do Give, Grant, and Confirm unto Thomas Booth of Prince George County one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing one thousand five hundred and fifty four acres Lying and being on both sides of the Sweathous Fork of Deep Creek in the County aforesaid and bounded as follows (to wit) BEGINNING at a Corner Butterwood on the side of the Beaver Pond below the mouth of the great Branch thence South thirty five Degrees East two hundred and fifty five Poles to a Corner Shrub white Oak thence North forty Degrees East five hundred and fifty Poles to a Corner Pine and thence West nineteen Degrees north forty Poles to Seth Pettypools Corner thence North ten Degrees West two hundred Poles along his Line to his Corner the West thirty Degrees North one hundred and twenty four Poles to a Corner White oak thence West twenty Six Degrees South thirty nine Poles to a Corner Oak thence West thirty four Degrees and an half South thirty four Poles Thomas Simmon's Corner Dogwood thence South twenty five Degrees West one Hundred and twelve Poles along the said Simmon's head Line to his the said Thomas Booth's old Line thence along the same North forty one Degrees West one hundred Poles to his lower Corner thence West five Degrees North three hundred and twenty five Poles to John Clay's Line thence along the same South forty one Degree West Sixty Poles to a Corner in the said Clay's Line thence South Sixteen Degrees East one hundred and thirty two Poles to a Corner Pine thence East twenty Degrees South two hundred and sixty Poles to a Corner Butterwood on the Sweathous Creek thence up same as it meanders to the first Station; one hundred and fifty acres part of the said Tract being formerly Granted to the said Thomas Booth Patent bearing date the thirteenth Day of October one thousand seven hundred and twenty seven and the residue never before patented; WITH ALL woods, underwoods, Swamps, Marshes, Lowgrounds, Meadows, Feedings and his due share of all veins, mines, and Quarries as well discovered as not discovered within the bounds aforesaid and being part of the said Quanity of one thousand five hundred and fifty four acres of Land and the River waters and water courses therein contained together with the privileges of Hunting, Hawking, Fishing, Fowling and all other Profits Comodities and Hereditament whatsoever to the same or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining TO HAVE HOLD possess and Enjoy the said Tract or parcel of Land and all other the before Granted Premises and every part thereof with the and every of their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Booth and to his Heirs and assigns forever. To the only use and behoof of him the said Thomas Booth his Heirs and assigns forever. TO BE HELD of use our Heirs and Successors as of our Manor of East Greenwich in the County of Kent in free and Comon Soccage and not in Capite or by Knights Service YIELDING AND PAYING unto us our Heirs and Successors for every fifty Acres of Land and so proportionably for a lesser or Greater Quanity than fifty acres the Fee Rent of one Shilling yearly to be paid upon the Feast of Saint Michael the Arch Angel and also Cultivating and Improving three acres part of every fifty of the Tract above mentioned within three years after the Date of these presents (Excepting for so much of the said Land as hath been already Cultivated and Improved according to the Condition of the said former Patent) PROVIDED always that if three years of the said Fee Rent shall at any time be in arrear and unpaid or if the said Thomas Booth his Heirs or assigns Do not within the Space of three years next coming after the date of these presents Cultivate and Improve three acres part of every fifty of the tract above mentioned (Except as before exempted) Then the Estate hereby Granted Shall cease and be utterly Determined and thereafter it shall and may be lawful to and for us our Heirs and Successors to Grant the same Lands and Premises with the appurtenances unto such other Person or Persons as we our Heirs and Successors shall think fit.
