An ardent deer hunter, he was still rounding up deer in Virginia in his 80's. But he loved a moonlit night and a fine possum hunt with his dogs too. In addition to Amelia County, Virginia, he had lived in Mt Airy, North Carolina, with his sister Elsie, and in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with his sister Rica, helping her when her husband died. Orville was an amusing, amazing character, a robust energetic man, who always knew everybody in the county. Friendly and outgoing, he loved to play practical jokes on his family and friends. Everyone will greatly miss him. He will be laid to rest at Chula in Amelia County, Virginia.
