The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ In the name of God Amen I John Farley of Amelia County being weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die Do make this my Last Will & Testament that is to say first & principally of all I give my Soul into the hands of God who at first gave it Not doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God & my body to the Earth to be buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for such Earthly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life my just Debts & Furneral charges being first paid I give demise & dispose of the manner form following Item I give and bequeath to my four Sons John, William, Jeremiah & Stephen that Track of Land whereon I now live to be Equally Divided Between them to them & their Heirs forever. My Will & desire is that when the Land is Divided that my four Sons above Named Should draw Lots which of them should have the Plantation & Buildings Where I now live. Item I lend to my beloved & Lawful Wife Sarah Farley, the Lands & plantation with my whole Estate both real & personal be it of what kind nature or Quality soever during her Natural Life and at her Decease my Goods & Chattels to be equally Divided Between my five Children John, William, Jeremiah, Stephen & Sarah Farley to them & their heirs forever. I appoint my beloved & Lawful Wife Sarah Farley & William Farley Sen. whole & Sole Executors of this my Last Will & Testament hereby Revoking all other Will or Wills as heretofore made appoint this my to be my Last Will In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand & Seal this thirty first day of March one thousand Seven hundred & Sixty four. Signed & Sealed in presence of Simon Clement John Farley (his mark) Stephen Farley Faith Blake (her mark) Court held for Amelia County the 25th September 1766 This Will was proved by the oaths of Simon Clement & Stephen Farley two of the Witnesses thereto Sworn to by Sarah Farley the Executix therein named & Ordered to be recorded And on the motion of the said Executrix who entered into & Acknowledged Bond with Security according to Law Certificate andGranted herefor Obtaining a Probate in due form.
