I leave to my beloved wife Elizabeth Booth during her natural life or widowhood the following property the Plantation and land whereon I now live on the North side of Indian Creek also all my Stock of every kind except which (?) and shall be hereafter named given unto my children. I leave unto my said wife during her natural life or widowhood 2 feather beds and furniture also all my plantation _________ also my household and Kitchen furniture except which shall not be hereafter given to my children. Item I give and bequeath unto my son James Booth all that part of my land that lieth on the south side of the Indian Creek joining the land of Arnold (?) Lawrence (?) also one horse saddle bridle one cow and calf one Feather bed & furniture to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Lamon Booth all that part of my land that lyeth on the North side of the Indian Creek it being that part that I now live on also one horse bridle and saddle one cow & calf one feather bed and furniture, to him & his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Booth one cow & calf also one feather bed and furniture. I desire that at the marriage or death of my wife Elizabeth Booth which ever may first happen that all the personal estate of every kind which I have lent unto her, may be sold and the money arising from such sale may be equally divided between all my children viz Sarah Batts Nancy Paton James Booth Lamon Booth & Elizabeth Booth. I do hereby appoint my true and trusty friends (?) my son John (sic?) Booth and my beloved wife Elizabeth Booth Executor & Executrix to this my last Will and Testament _______and evoking all other Wills heretofore by me made. In Witness whereof I ________ hereunto set my hand and affix my seal the 9th day of August 1806 James Booth [Seal] Starling Waller William (his X mark) Clark Edgecombe County, February Court 1808 The within last will and Testament of James Booth Sen was offered in open Court for probate & was duly proven by Starling Waller & William Clark the two duly subscribing witnesses thereto ....And John (sic) Booth & Elizabeth Booth the executor & Executrix therein named were at the some time qualified thereto _______forum of law....Ordered that the same be certified & the will recorded.
