Will of Garner Mayes, 1806 Amelia Co. VA May Court, 1806 I Garner Mayes of Amelia County do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, first, I desire that as much of my estate as can be best spared be sold after my decease and out of the moneys arising therefrom be appropriated to the payment of my just debts, secondly, I lend to my wife Judith Mayes the residue of the (Can't read this word) estate during her natural life for the purpose of maintaining and educating my children and after her decease to be equally divided among the survivors of them. And lastly I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Judith Mayes executrix and William Burton executor to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former testament by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six.
