L. MEADOR AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA WILL BOOK 22 This the 21st day of January 1892. Amelia County State of Virginia. I make my last and only will and testament and want my property disposed of in following manner: First my entire property consisting of a tract of land and two horses and one cow and calf. Enough must be sold of my crop of tobacco does not bring enough to pay all my debts and after paying my debts the balance of my property I give to my son Mitchell Meador. I appoint Mrs. Nannie Farrar as administratix of my property. I also leave my child Mitchell Meador in her keeping and charge until he comes of age. The property I give to be rented out for the benefit of my son Mitchell Meador until he is able to take care of himself and then he can dispose of the said property as he thinks best. I now appoint the said Nannie W. Farrar as administratix of my estate without bond or security. This the 21 day of January 1892. Witness my hand and seal F. L. Meador Witness: J. W. Fretwell J. J. Meador dec'd with the codicil attached was this day produced in open court and offered for probate. Therefore the said will was proven by J. W. Fretwell and J.J. Farrar the two subscribing witnesses thereto and the codicil was proven by C. E. Kennedy and J. J. Farrar the two subscribing witnesses thereto, whereupon offered for probate. Therefore the said will was proven by J. W. Fretwell and J. J. Farrar the two subscribing witnesses thereto and the codicil was proven by C. E. Kennedy and J. J. Farran the two subscribing witnesses thereto. Whereupon the said will and codicil are ordered to be recorded as the two last will and testament of F. L. Meador dec'd and on motion of Mrs. Nannie W. Farrar the Executius named in said will she is permitted to qualify. Thereupon she appeared before the court and qualified by taking the oath required by law and entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $250.00 without security (conditioned according to law) the testator by his will directing that no security be required of her. Orange, being of sound and disposing mind, mindful of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do make this my last will and testament. I give and bequeath fifty acres more or less of land bounded as follows: beginning at N. E. corner of my land where it comes on the land of Mrs. C. H. Chapman, thence following the road which is a line between my lands and those of George E. Farley in a S. W. direction, say three or four hundred yards to a pine stump, a corner mark between my lands and those of George E. Farley, thence following road, a line between my lands and those of George E Farley, in a S. E. direction, some three hundred yards to corner on what is known as the Lawson and Meador tract, thence E. to corner between my lands and those of Mrs. C. H. Chapman, thence N. easterly following line between my lands and those of said Mrs. Chapman to place of beginning, to the three sons of my sister Mrs. Martha Thomas Barden and the two sons of my sister Mrs. Ann Jane Meador in equal portions, to be held by them during their natural lives and then to the heirs of their bodies, should any of them die without heir. I wish their portion to be divided in equal portions between the heirs of the others. I give and bequeath the balance of the lands which I do possessed to my sister Miranda Susan Orange to be held by her during her natural life at her death to go to the heirs of the five life legatees mentioned above in equal portions.
