Hudson Cemetery Location: At Forks of Buffalo, Virginia on Route #60. Amherst County OWNERS: (1936) Present owner Mr. Higgingbotham DESCRIPTION: This is a large brick home. The house was never completed as the man wife died while it was being built. At one time his place consisted of about 300 acres. The owner still keeps one room here, furnished with antiques. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There are two graveyards near this home. Each one has a rock wall three feet high around it. There is only one inscription on a tombstone: Isabella McCullock wife of Zacbauch Drummond Born Oct. 16, 1800 Died Dec. 19, 1830 and Zachauch Drummond Born July 9, 1790 Died March 24, 1869 Whilist in this tomb our father lies His spirit rests above In sweetness of bliss it never dies But leaves a sad ones love.
