Cemetery Location:  1.5 miles south of Monroe, Virginia on Route #29, thence 
                    west .25 mile on Route #677 on the north side of road.
                    Amherst County




DESCRIPTION:

Mr. Steen said this was a real old cemetery, but the older graves did not have 
tombstones.  They had a rock at the head and foot of the graves.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Thomas D.
son of Thomas and Jane Cox
born 1846 – died 1861


Ambrose E. Mitchell
Born 1819 – Died 1867
As for man his days are as grass,
as a flower of the fields
