To all &c. Know ye that for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five shillings of good and Lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony & Dominion of Virginia We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs and Sucessors D [sic] give grant and confirm unto Pettiss Thacker one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred and ten Acres lying and being in the County of Amherst on the North side and joining Harris's Creek & bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at pointers to Charles Lynch & Col.o Carrington and with Lynch's lines South thirty three degrees West fifty two poles to a white oak South two degrees West one hundred and twelve poles to a red oak and pointers thence on new Lines North sixty five degrees West, seventy eight poles to a red oak South seventy two degrees West twenty poles to a large white oak and pointers on the North side of Harris's Creek corner to Christopher Lynch thence up the same according to its meanders making in a right line one hundred poles to a white oak thence on new Lines North five degrees East ninety two poles to pointers North thirty six degrees East at forty two poles a Branch at one hundred and sixteen poles another one hundred and twenty eight poles to pointers in Col.o Carringtons Line and with it South forty seven degrees [page break] [p.] 339) degrees East one hundred and eighht [sic] poles to the first station. ~ With all &c.
