Beverley Randolph esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all 
to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that in consideration of 
the received compensation of five shillings sterling paid by Powhatan Bolling 
into the Treasury of the Commonwealth.  There is granted by the said 
Commonwealth unto the said Powhatan Bolling a ******** land or parcel of 
land containing two and three quarter acres by survey bearing date the nineth 
day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight. Lying and being 
in the County of Amherst on the north side of and sharing the Fluvanna River, 
and bounded as followith to wit, Beginning at a *ed Oak on the back of the 
said river in his line, with his own line, north eleven degrees east eighteen poles 
to a *ed Oak cornor to Micajuh Torsel(?), with his line north eighty degrees west 
thirty seven poles to a Hickory on the bank of the river, thence down the same 
as it meanders forty five poles to the beginning. With its appurtenance to have 
and to hold the said land or parcel of land, with its appurtenance to the said 
Powhatan Bolling and his heirs for ever.  In witness where of the said Beverley 
Randolph esquire Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath here unto 
sets his hand and caused the ***** seal of the said Commonwealth to be 
affirmed at Richmond on the eight day of April in the year of our Lord one 
thousand seven hundred and ninety one and of the Commonwealth the fifteenth.
