Stinnet/Isham Deed, 1761 - Amherst County, VA Amherst County, Va., Deed Book A, p. 9 Grantor: Benjamin Stinnet Grantee: James Isham Date: 3 August 1761 THIS INDENTURE made this third Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty one BETWEEN Benjamin Stinnet of the County of Amherst of the one part & James Isham of the same County of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Benjamin Stinnet for and in Consideration of a Certain promise by him made to the said James Isham at the time of his Intermarrying with his Daughter, hath granted Bargained & sold, Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed unto the said James Isham and his Heirs one Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred Acres Lying and being in the County of Amherst Near the Tobacco Row Mountain & on the Branches of Huffs Creek (being the Lower part of a Tract of four hundred Acres Granted to the said Benjamin Stinnet by Patent bearing Date the first Day of June In the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty thus Bounded Begining at a Chesnut Corner of the said Stinnets and with his lines North Twelve Degrees West two hundred and Eighty three Poles to a White oak and Chesnut Oak, and South fifty one Degrees West Sixty five poles to Pointers a New line South twelve Degrees East two hundred and Sixty Poles to pointers in the said Stinnets Line and with it North Seventy two Degrees East Sixty Poles to the first Station and Now in the possession of the said James Isham with all houses, Ways, Easements & Advantages Whatsoever to the said Land & premises Belonging or Appurtaining & also all the Estates Right, Title, Interest Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said Benjamin Stinnet of in and to the same. To have and to hold the said Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said James Isham his heirs and Assigns forever, and the said Benjamin Stinnet & his heirs the said Land & Premises above mentioned with the Appurtenances to the sd. James Isham his heirs & Assigns, against him the said Benjamin Stinnet & his heirs and all other Persons, will warrant & forever Defend by these presents IN WITNESS whereof the partie above named hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal. his Benjn.
