VA Will Book No. 6, p. 189 I Isaiah Attkisson of the County of Amherst do make and ordain This my last will & testament in the following manner. Item 1: My desire is that after my death that William Attkisson & Patsey Attkisson should keep full and entire possession of all held tracts and parcels of land and lands whereon I now reside until the marriage of Patsey Attkisson on or her death the possession expires of either death or marriage of said Patsey _____ to the said Williams arrival to the age of maturity that the said William keep on in possession till he does arrive to the age of twenty one years. Item 2: My desire is that at the marriage or death of the said Patsey and at time of the arrival of the said William be the age of twenty one years that the entire tracts or parcels of land whereoon I now live on may be equally divided between William Attkisson Patsey Attkisson & Elizabeth Burris(?) daughters & son of Isaiah Attkisson and their heirs for ever. Item 3: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Patsey Attkisson one negro woman named Nicey & her three children named Sarah, Jane & Parker with all their future increases together with one feather bed & furniture commonly called hers & her heirs forever. Item 4: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Burris(?) one negro woman named Nancy & her furture increases together with one feather bed & furniture now in her possession but to be at my control during my life to her and her heirs for ever. Item 5: I give & bequeath unto William Attkisson two negroes named Ned & Salley & their increases together with one feather bed and furniture commonly called his and his heirs for ever. Item 6: ______ all the _____ of my personal estate to wit, four negroes namely Tim Aaron Nelsen & Nancy together with the ___ residue of my household & kitchen furniture stock of horses cattle sheep hogs & C. & all my plantation tools and utensils __ &C. & all other property belonging or commonly attached to Jelan (?) ____ not heirs to those given in special legacies and all debts ------ & collector by my Executors & Executrix ___ after named and after paying all my just death & Expenses be equally divided between Patsey Attkisson Elizabeth Burris(?) & William Attkisson Daughters & son of Isaiah Attkisson. Item 7: I do hereby constitute & appoint Alxd. Attkisson my nephew & William Attkisson my son as my ____ lawful executors & Patsey Attkisson my daughter as my executrix given under my hand and sealed this the twentyenth day of October In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen.
