Holland] Enumerators used booklets with sheets A - B, repeating. Each sheet was numbered consecutively by the enumerators i.e. 1A 1B, 2A, 2B, etc. A sheets are stamped with bold numbers after the census was taken by the Census Bureau. A sheets are the stamped B pages. In 1910 Appomattox County was enumerated by Magisterial Districts (3) and Enumeration Districts (6). Each page is filled in to indicate the state, county, Magisterial District, Supervisor's District #, enumeration District #, sheet #, name of the enumerator and date of enumeration. Post Office Data is not shown as in some past census. The county was in supervisor's district No. 10 and enumeration districts 20 - 25. Clover Hill, District 20 North of Appomattox River and east of road by Hixburg to Prince Edward County line (excluding Pamplin City). Stamped pages 119B through 133A, sheets 1A - 14 B, 15 April through 9 May 1910, Dwelling 1-253, Family 1-254, by Reuben P. Bryant. Mr. Bryant included additional geographic location in each sheet margin. Sheet 14B (Page 133A) ends on line 71 and is marked as end of district. Clover Hill, District 21 South of Appomattox River and west of road by Hixburg to Prince Edward County line (includes Pamplin City, part). Stamped pages 133B through 151A, sheets 1A - 18B, 15April - 13 May 1910, Dwellings 1-263, Family 1-267 plus Dwelling 1 - 38, Family 1-39 for Pamplin City Ward, by L. M. Drinkard. Pages 138B and 148B are blank pages. Page 148A is noted as end of Clover Hill. Pages 149B-151A are for Pamplin. 151A is marked end of Pamplin. Mr. Drinkard listed Pamplin City as the name of incorporated city on all sheets; for the 4 sheets that are actually for Pamplin he noted that as the ward. South Side, District 22 West of line commencing at Stonewall District line on road south of Oakville, along road by F.W. McKinney's and by court house, crossing railroad at depot, and on the Redhouse road to mountain road (at schoolhouse) and with latter road by Hunter's old place to Falling river and down same to Spring Mills. Stamped pages 151B through - 166A, sheets 1A - 15B, 15 April - 4 May 1910, Dwelling 1-269 Family 1-272, by Frank B. Jones. There are some minor errors in household numbering. Page 16A ends on line 59 and is marked end of district. South Side District 23 East of line commencing at Stonewall District line on road south of Oakville, along road by F.W. McKinney's and by court house, crossing railroad at depot, and on the Redhouse road to mountain road (at schoolhouse) and with latter road by Hunter's old place to Falling river and down same to Spring Mills. Stamped pages 166B through 178A, sheets 1A - 12B, 15April - 18 May 1910, Dwelling 1-223, Family 1-224, by Edward Glover Harvey and Robert Curtis Harvey. Pages 166B -171A were enumerated by Edward Glover Harvey, who put road names in the sheet margins. Pages 171B -178A were enumerated by Robert Curtis Harvey who provided no additional information. Page 178A ( Sheet 12B) ends on line 89 and is not marked end of district It probably is complete since district 24 starts with page 178B. Stonewall, District 24 Take the Appomattox and Bent Creek road begin where the road from Appomattox Court House, going toward Bent Creek runs into the Stonewall District; thence through Eldon Farm (Rock Farm) to Oakville, from Oakville direct to Bent Creek. The point where this road runs into the Stonewall district is the southern boundary of the district. [not clear description, something missing?] Stamped pages 178B through 200B, sheets 1A through 23A, 15 April - 25 May 1910, Dwelling and Family Nos. 1 - 393, by William C. Abbitt. There are gross errors in the household numbering enumerator went from 1-297 and then picked up at 278 instead of 298, then continued on to 393 as well as other errors Page 200B (sheet 23A) ends on line 10 and is marked end of district. Stonewall, District 25 Take the Appomattox and Bent Creek road begin where the road from Appomattox Court House, going toward Bent Creek runs into the Stonewall District; thence through Eldon Farm (Rock Farm) to Oakville, from Oakville direct to Bent Creek. The point where this road runs into the Stonewall district and Bent Creek, which is on the James River, shall be the northern boundary of the district. .
