A native of Appomattox County, she was a daughter of Mrs. Ada Davis Price and the late Samuel Preston Price and the wife of Whittie Lee Darden. She was a member of Boaz Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dennis Perry of Isle of Wight County and Mrs. Marvin Carr of Nansemond county; a son, Whittie Lee Darden Jr. of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. M.W. Darden, Jr. of Windsor and Mrs. L.E. Womble of Isle of Wight County; two brothers, Samuel Preston Price Jr. of Washington, N.C., and William Howard Price of Chicago; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service was held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Rumfelt and the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin. Pallbearers were Jimmie Trayer, Frank Pulley, Dr. C.C. Crossland, Robert J. Daughtrey, James Darden, Jimmie Presson, George Hedgepeth, Theodore Eason, Joseph Bradshaw and Harvey L. Worrell.
