Carl Paugh. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Butler, 66, died Monday in Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg after a short illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the wife of Henry Clay Staples and the daughter of the late Alfred R. Butler and Mrs. Minnie Rose Butler. A retired Appomatox County school teacher, she was a member of Evergreen Methodist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Henry Clay Staples Jr. of Richmond and Alfred Gordon Staples of Evergreen; five sisters, Mrs. Ralph J. Williams of Moultrie, Ga., Mrs. Arthur Howell of Franklin, Mrs. Frank D. Holland of Holland, Mrs. Carey J. Fox of Virginia Beach and Mrs. John Vaughan of Hampton; four brothers, Alfred R. Butler Jr., Wilson M. Butler of Carrsville, J. Clinton Butler of Virginia Beach, T. Frank Butler of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren. Lucy Ann (BUTLER; Mrs. Henry C.)
