All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00012.html#0002870 August 15, 2007, 12:27 am Lot 15 Written: January 26, 1801 Recorded: January 26, 1801 Augusta County, Virginia Deed Book 31, pages 199-200 This Indenture made This Twenty sixth day of January in the year of our lord Christ one thousand Eight hundred & one between William Alexander and his wife Elizabeth of Albemarle County of the one part and Robert Steward of Augusta County of the other part witnesseth That for and in consideration of Seventy pounds of good & lawful money of Virginia in hand paid to the said William Alexander and Elizabeth his wife by the Said Robert Steward hath bargained and Sold unto the Said Robert Steward one lot of land and improvements lying [in] the Town of Wainsburrer and Numbered Fifteen as will appear by the plan which is now of record in the county court of Augusta, containing Twelve thousand feet of land which Said lot of land and improvements we the Said William and Elizabeth Alexander do warrant and defend the Right and title of to the said Robert Steward and his heirs and assigns forever against the claims of the said William and Elizabeth Alexander their heirs & assigns forever and at the time of Selling of the above mentioned premises we the Said William and Elizabeth Alexander hath a good Right to sell and dispose of the Same and by these presence [sic] do Sell unto the Said Robert Steward And to his heirs and assigns the above mentioned lott [sic] of land with the Improvements forever warrant and defending the Right and title of the above premises to the Said Robert Steward and his heirs & assigns forever against the claims of the said William and Elizabeth Alexander and their heirs and assigns and all other persons whatsoever given under our hands and Seals.
