Witnesseth that whereas the said James Alexander by his last will & testament bearing date the 18th day of June in the year 1806 and duly admitted to record in the County Court office of Augusta, did direct the Land of which he died possessed to be sold by his Executors. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said John Alexander, William Alexander & Gabriel Alexander Exrs as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Eight Thousand dollars current money of the united States to them in hand paid, or secured to be paid by the said Adam Wine at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents and by virtue of the will aforesaid do grant bargain & sell unto the said Adam Wine his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate on the long meadow run in the County of Augusta containing by estimation three hundred & ninety acres (be the same more or less) and bounded as follows to wit. Begining at a stake South of a branch corner to Martin Grove, and runing thence with his line North fifty six degrees west four hundred & nineteen poles & a half to a large white his corner on George Pilson's line, and with the same North fifty four degrees East, one hundred & thirty three poles to two white oaks corner to John McCune, thence with his line South sixty six degrees East Three hundred & fifty seven poles, to two small white oaks & a black oak bush six poles Northwardly of a cave, and thence with a line of George McC???? and Burkholders South Twenty six & a half degrees East one hundred & ninety four poles to the beginning, being the same tract of land that was devised by the last will & testament of James Alexander dec'd to the said James Alexander as will appear reference being had to the said will now of record in the office of the County Court of Augusta and dated as is believed in the year 1777. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the Said Adam Wine his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Adam Wine his heirs & assigns forever, and the said John Alexander, William Alexander & Gabriel Alexander Exrs as aforesaid for themselves their heirs Exrs & admns do covenant with the said Adam Wine his heirs & assigns that they the said John Alexander, William Alexander & Gabriel Alexander their heirs Exrs & adms the said tract of land with its appurtenances unto the said Adam Wine his heirs & assigns, against the claim or claims of them the said John Alexander, William Alexander & Gabriel Alexander and their heirs and of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant & forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said John Alexander, William Alexander & Gabriel Alexander have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first above written. This Indenture of Bargain and Sale between James Alexander Exrs of the one part and Adam Wine of the other part was proved by the oaths of Gabriel Alexander, Samuel Clarke and William Patrick three of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
