Witnesseth that the said John Bell &c in consideration of the sum of five shillings in hand paid the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted bargained and sold unto the said Alexander a certain tract or parcel of Land in the county aforesaid containing by estimation one hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less bounded as followeth to wit. Beginning at two pines on the patent line and with the same East 70 poles to three oaks on a branch North 340 poles to the said patent line and with the same N 73 E 377 poles to the Beginning It being one half of a tract which was patented in the name of the said James Bell deceased December 1791 lying on the South side of the South river & in which the said Alexander had a just claim for the 2d one half but the legal title having been in the said Bell at the time of his death & he having made his will in writing and among other things directed that the aforesaid John Bell, Joseph Bell and Sarah Bell should possess all his estate or property not particularly mentioned in the said Will and the said tract of Land not having been mentioned in the aforesaid Will became the property of the aforesaid persons which said Will is now of record in the County Court of Augusta. To have and To hold the said 160 acres of Land will its appurtenances to the said Gabriel Alexander and his heirs forever and the said John Bell, Joseph Bell and Sarah Bell for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant with the said Gabriel Alexander and his heirs that they the said John Bell & others or their heirs, executors and administrators the said tract of Land with its appurtenances to the said Gabriel Alexander and his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend. In Witness whereof the said John Bell, Joseph Bell and Sarah Bell have set their hands and seals on this day and year aforesaid.
