All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00012.html#0002870 August 14, 2007, 10:59 pm Lot 15 Written: March 2, 1798 Recorded: April 8, 1798 Augusta County, Virginia Deed Book 29, page 350 This Indenture made on the second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety eight Between Samuel Estill and Jean his wife of the County of Augusta and State of Virginia on the one part and William Alexander of the County of Augusta on the other part Witnesseth that the said Estill and wife in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds Current Money in hand paid the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold unto the said William Alexander a certain Lot No. 15 in the county of Augusta on the South River in a new Town and lies on the south side of the first main Street and is bounded by Lot No. 14 & an alley. Beginning at the south Corner of the alley thence N 82 Degrees W 60 feet N 8 Degrees E 200 feet [thence] S 82 Degrees E 60 feet [thence] S 8 Degrees W 200 feet containing twelve thousand feet with all its appurtenances to the said William Alexander and his heirs forever and the said Samuel Estill & Jean his wife for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the said William Alexander and his heirs that they said Estill & their heirs executors and administrators, the said Lot of Land with its appurtenances to the said William Alexander and his heirs will forever warrant and defend. In Witness whereof the said Samuel Estill & Jean Estill have set their hands and seals on the day and year aforesaid.
