Henderson and Wm. Gillaspy of the County of Green, State of North Carolina by Robert Finely of Augusta County and State of Virginia their Attorney in fact of the one part and Francis Alexander son of & Legatee of Francis Alexander deceased of the other part Witnesseth that the said Wm. Henderson and Wm. Gillaspy by Robert Finely their Attorney aforesaid (who acts by virtue of a power of Attorney from the said Henderson Having date the first day of September 1791 and now of Record in the County Court of Augusta) for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to them in hand paid by the said Alexander the younger the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged and for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds to them in hand paid by Francis Alexander the Elder in his life time and who directed by his last will and testament that the said Francis Alexander the younger should have one half of a certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying in Augusta County and containing two hundred acres which he purchased from the said Henderson and Gillespy & being the remaining part of said tract after John Alexander should have his part laid off they the said Henderson &c have bargained and sold unto the said Francis Alexander and his heirs and Assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in Augusta County on Christians Creek containing one hundred acres by part of a tract sold by the said Henderson &c to the said Alexander and left to the said Francis the younger by the said Francis as aforesaid which said tract of Land is bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak on the South side of Christians Creek South twenty three degrees West 44 poles to two pines North 67 degrees West 33 poles to a white corner to John Alexander, North eleven degrees West to the Creek and down the same ninety eight poles to a sycamore South eighty degrees West 40 poles to a black oak saplin North 35 degrees West 80 poles to a white oak and ???? Pine on the old line North 38 degrees East 126 poles to two white oaks South eighteen and a half degrees East 236 poles to the Beginning. To have and To Hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with all its appurtenances unto the said Francis Alexander his heirs and Assigns forever to his only use and behoof and the said Wm. Henderson & Wm. Gillaspy by their Attorney aforesaid for themselves their heirs executors administrators and Assigns do covenant with the said Alexander and his heirs and Assigns that they the said Wm. Henderson &c their heirs &c the Said Tract of Land with its appurtenances unto the said Francis Alexander his heirs and Assigns will forever warrant and defend. In Witness whereof the said Wm.
