Samuel & James) were named executors of the will of their father William LONG (dated 29 Jan 1781, proved 18 Sep 1781). William (II) died before the will was made; his son William (III), the legatee mentioned above, d. before this conveyance was made, 9 Jan 1798. A transcription of the will (WB6:187) is posted at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/augusta/wills/l520w1wl.txt Samuel's will (dated 5 Dec 1805, proved 24 Jan 1814; WB11:309-11) mentions that bro. James had moved to Kentucky. It is not clear from these records why Samuel & James did not take on themselves the burden of the execution of their father's will.
