All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Augusta County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Deeds Elizabeth LONG, widow of Benjamin LONG (1/3 dower), and Daniel WAMPLER & wife Susannah to Samuel LONG (1/6 right), Deed of Bargain & Sale- ½ of 8ĵ acres, dated 26 Dec 1833, presented May 1834 This Indenture made this 26th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 1833 Between Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife of the one part, and Samuel Long of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife for & in consideration of the sum of Five Dollars current money of Virginia, unto them in hand paid by the said Samuel Long the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & thereof do release, acquit, & discharge the said Samuel Long his heirs his p. 85 Executors & Administrators by these presents, the said Elizabeth Long, Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, & confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, & confirm unto the said Samuel Long his heirs & assigns forever, all the rights & title of the said Elizabeth Long being her Dower in &c to one tract of land lying & being situated on naked Creek in the County of Augusta & containing Eight & one fourth Acres, and is the same tract of which Benj’n Long dec’d died ceased & possessed of & the said Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife of on their part convey to said Samuel Long all their right & title in & to the same tract of land being one undivided sixth thereof, the above land was purchased of [blank] Link, by Deed bearing date June 26, 1815 & is of Record in the Clerk’s Office of Augusta County by reference to which it will more fully appear, together with all Houses, buildings, orchards, waters, water courses, profits, commodities, hereditaments, appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions remainders & remainders issues & Profits thereof. Also all the estate, right, titles, Interest use, trust, property, claims & demand whatsoever of us the said Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife in Law or equity of and in the premises aforesaid & every part thereof, to have & to hold all & singular the premises with the appurtenances hereby conveyed the said Samuel Long his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof of him the said Samuel Long his heirs & assigns forever. And lastly that the said Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife & their heirs all & singular the premises hereby conveyed the the appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Samuel Long his heirs & assigns, against the said Elizabeth Long & David Wampler & Susannah his wife & their heirs & all & every other person or persons whatsoever, shall, will warrant & forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife have thereunto set their hands & seals, the day & year first above written. her Signed, Sealed & delivered Elizabeth X Long {Seal} In the presence of mark Daniel Wampler {Seal} her Susannah X Wampler {Seal} mark Shenendoah County to wit We George Moore & John Noel Magistrates of the said County do hereby certify that Elisabeth Long & Daniel Wampler parties to the within conveyance duly acknowledged the same before us the same before us on the 26th day December in the year 1833 and desired us to certify the sd acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Augusta in order that the said conveyance may be recorded. Wampler the wife of Daniel Wampler parties to a ... Deed for the conveyance of real estate to Samuel Long bearing date on the 26th day of December 1823 & hereto annexed, personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid; and being examined by us privily & apart from her husband & having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her the said Susannah Wampler acknowledged the same to be her act & Deed & declared that she had willingly signed, sealed & delivered the same & that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands & seals this 26th day of December 1833 George Moore {Seal} Jacob Noel {Seal} Augusta County Court May Term 1834 This Deed of B & Sale Between Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife of the one part and Samuel Long of the other part was presented in Court & having been duly acknowledged by the said Elizabeth Long & Daniel Wampler & Susannah his wife before two Justices of the Peace for Shenendoah County, is ordered to be recorded together with the Certificates of acknowledgment & privy examination hereon enclosed.
