District Recorded in the Clerk's office of the Circuit Court for Augusta County in Deed Book No. 152, page 488 and Examined Teste, Harry Burnett, Clerk Tax $1.00 Transfer 1.00 Recdg. 1.50 $3.50 Paid August 31/1907 ___________________________________________________________________________- This Deed, made and entered into this 26th day of August, 1907, by and between Addison W. Thompson and Catharine J. Thompson, his wife, parties of the first part, and Minnie E. Loving, wife of John C. Loving, part of the second part, and Thomas H. McCambridge, part of the third part, all of Augusta County, VA. WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00), cash in hand paid by the party of the second part to the parties of the first part, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said parties of the first part do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, with general warranty of title, that certain tract or parcel of land, with all buildings and improvements thereon, and all appurtenances thereto belonging, now owned by the said parties of the first part, situated in South River District, Augusta County, about three miles south east from Stuarts Draft, and on the north east side of the Howardsville road, and containing 20 acres, 1 rood and 30 poles, be the same more or less, it being the same that was conveyed unto the said parties of the first part by Thos. H. McCambridge and wife by deed of date February 13th. 1904, and duly recorded in the County Clerk's office of Augusta County, in D.B.141, page 381, reference to which is hereby made. Said tract of land is bounded as follows: Beginning at a point in the middle of the Howardsville road, corner to Rankin, (near where the Rankin school house stood); thence with his line N. 0/21 E. 61-1/2 poles to a stone on Hunter's line; and with his line S. 58-1/2 E. about 65 poles to a white oak tree, corner with the fence; thence S. 0/31 W. 54-1/2 poles to a point in the middle of the said Howardsville road near a white oak tree in the fence; thence with the middle of the said road to the beginning. Whereas in said last mentioned deed there was a mistake made in the metes and bounds of said land, by which some of the lines were left out. And Whereas it is the desire of the said party of the third part that said mistake shall be corrected, to the end that there may be no question or defect whatever in said title to said land. Now therefore the said party of the third part hereby unites in this conveyance for the purpose of connecting the said error in the last mentioned deed, hereby certifying that the metes and bounds, and courses and distances set forth in this deed are the true lines of said land, and should have been so set out in said last mentioned deed fully and correctly as set out in this deed.
