Branaman Waynesboro, Va. ____________________________________________________________________ This Deed made this the 17th day of January, 1920, between John H. Alley, widower, party of the first part, and May L. Brooks and L. M. Brooks, Parties of the second part: WITNESSETH That for and in consideration of Five ($5.00) Dollars, cash in hand paid, and other valuable considerations paid by the parties of the second part to the party of the first part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said John H. Alley, doth hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto L. M. Brooks, and May L. Brooks, with general warranty of title reserving unto himself, the said John H. Alley, a life estate, in and to the real estate hereinafter described and conveyed, all that certain lot or parcel of real estate located in South River District of Augusta County, Virginia, not far from Stuarts Draft, containing Seven (7-A.) Acres, Thirty (30-P.) Poles, it being the same real estate conveyed to the party of the first part by deed dated November 22nd, 1893, by William E. Humphreys, and wife, which said deed is duly of record in the Clerk's office of the Circuit Court of Augusta County, in D. B. 120, ) P. 200, to which reference is here made for a more particular description. Witness the following signature and seal. John H. Alley (Seal) STATE OF VIRGINIA TO-WIT: COUNTY OF AUGUSTA, I, E. W. Barger a notary Public in and for the County of Augusta, in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that John H. Alley, widower, whose name is signed to the foregoing writing bearing date on the 17th, day of January, 1920, has acknowledged the same before me in my County and State aforesaid.
