AUGUSTA COUNTY, VIRGINIA - HUDDLE LAND GRANT ___________________________________________________________ The Right Honourable Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameron in that part of Great Brittain called Scotland proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia to call to whom this present writing comes sends Greeting. Know Ye That for good course for and in Consideration of the Composition to Me paid and for the annual Rent hereafter reserved I have given granted and confirmed and by thy prevents For Me any Heirs and assigns Do give grant and confirm unto Huddle of Augusta County a certain Tract of waste and ungranted land in the said County joying Rynard Bauden upon the drains of Manesses Run under the North mountain and said to be in Joost Hites Claim and is also bounded according to a Survey thereof made by Mr. J. Baylis as followeth. Beginning at a Spanish oak corner to Rynard Bauden then S 42 degrees N Two hundred and forty Poles To a Red Oak in a great Valley thence S. 48 degrees one hundred and thirty four Poles To a Beach at the head of a Drain of Bohmans Run Othern if called Manesses; then N 42 degrees Two hundred and forty Poles to two white Oaks and a red Oak near a Steep Valley in Rynard Bauden's line then with his line N 48 degrees W one hundred and Thirty four Poles to the Beginning containing Two hundred and one Acres Together with all rights Members and appurtenances thereunto belonging, Royal Mines excepted and a full Third part of all Land Copper Tinn Coals Iron Mines and know that shall be found thereon To have and to hold the said Two hundred and one acres of Land Together with all Rights Profits and Benefits to the same belonging or in any Wise appertaining Except before Excepted To him the said Huddle his Heirs and Assigns for Ever He the said.
