Transcribed from the original image: George the Second etc. To all etc. know ye that for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five Shillings of good and lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for () our Heirs and Successors, Do give grant and confirm unto Henry Long one certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and fifty acres lying and being in the county of Augusta on a branch between the Peaked Mountain and Shanando River and bounded as followeth to wit beginning at two white oak saplins corner to Jacob Harmons land and running thence North thirty Degrees East two hundred poles to three pines North fifty three Degrees West two hundred poles crossing a branch to two pines South thirty Degrees West two hundred poles crossing several branches to two white Oaks on a branch in a line of Jacob Harmons Land and with said line South fifty three Degrees East two hundred poles to the beginning With all etc to have hold etc To be held etc yielding and paying etc Provided etc In witness etc Witness our Trusty and Welbeloved Francis Fauquier Esquire our Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburgh Under the Seal of our said Colony the twentieth Day of August One thousand seven hundred and Sixty In the thirty fourth year of our Reign --------- Fran: Fauquier.
