Know ye that for divers good Causes and Considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Thirty five Shillings of good and Lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have given granted and Confirmed and by these present for us our Heirs and Successors Do give grant and Confirm unto Thomas Barnes one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing three hundred and fifty Acres lying and being in the County of Augusta on Buffalow Creek a branch of Roanoke and Bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at three black Oaks on the West side the Creek corner to the Land of Malcom Campbells Heirs thence with a Line of the said Land South fifty Degrees East forty poles to two red Oakes South eighty six Degrees East twenty Poles crossing the Creek to a white oak South forty Degrees East twenty two Poles to a Spanish Oak on a Ridge North sixty six Degrees East one hundred & twenty two Poles to a white Oak North twenty five Degrees West two hundred and sixty Poles to a white Oak and two Hickory Saplins South seventy Degrees West sixty six Poles crossing the said Creek to a black Oak and Hickory South sixty two Degrees West ninety six Poles to four white Oak Saplins by pg. 139 by the Road South thirty two Degrees West seventy two Poles to two Hickory Saplins South six Degrees West one hundred and ten Poles to two black Oaks South thirty seven Degrees East forty four poles to two black Oaks in a Line of the said Campbells Land and along his Line North seventy five Degrees East one hundred and fourteen Poles through the great Lick to the beginning.
