August 18 1787 Signed: Alan Humphrey The above has received three wounds-one through his hand, one through his side and one through his shoulder. Received his wounds at Point Pleasant at the Battle of Point Pleasant on October 20 1774; served as a captain of the militia, ordered on the Shawerly? Expedition by Lord Dunsmore, then the Governor. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that John Dickerson, aged about 56 years, late a Captain in the Militia of Augusta, was disabled by three wounds he received at the Battle of Point Pleasant in October 1774 as to entitle him to the sum of fiftypounds yearly; which allowance is accordingly made him, to commence from the first day of January 1786.
