Christain's Command Augusta and Russell Counties Also See: Boush, Goodrich--Skaggs, John His Excellency the Governor of Hon'bl Council: Petition of Alexander McFarlin Humbly Sheweth That your petitioner was a soldier under the command of Col. Andrew Lewis and the he received his wounds in the service of rthis country in the Battle of Point Pleasant on the 10 day October 1774 which renders him incapable of supporting his family. Your petitioner was examined by the Commissioner appointed for that perpose who allowed the annual pention of ten pounds, on the second application he drew the same, soon after he removed to Clinch, a very remote part of this state and the invasion of the Savages in that part rendered his situation so difficutl that it prevented him of making further application for his annuite-Your petitioner Humbly ___ your Excellency and Hon'ble ___- will take this case under your consideration which council will ever pay. Hair I do with the advice of the Council hereby certify that Alexander McFarlane, about 48 years of age, late a private in the militia was disabled in the service of the Commonwealth, then the colony of Virginia, by several wounds received at Point Pleasant; and that he is entitled to the sum of ten pounds yearly to commence on the 1st day of Jan'y 1788.
