ŻŻŻŻ A Supposed Pittsburger Hangs Him- self in a County Jail. Washington, Pa., Aug. 3.-(Special.)- The dead body of a colored man who gave his name as Charles Edwards, Charles Jeffrey and Joseph Reed and his home as six miles from Staunton, Va., and Pitts- burg, was found suspended from a cord made from a bed tick in the county jail this morning. It is thought that he hanged himself about 10 o'clock last night. At that time noises were heard in the cell, which he occupied alone. He was committed to jail Thursday night, being found wandering around on the street. He said that some one was trying to murder him. Edwards seemed to be insane, and was kept locked in the cell all the time. He was about five feet five inches tall and weighed about 125 pounds, wore a light gray coat, dirty white shirt, and claimed to be a tailor. He arrived here Tuesday, he said, from Wheeling and Martin's Ferry. To all ap- pearances he was a tramp.
