Obituary: Lawrence E. "Larry" Brooks II 48, of Route 2, Box 342 C died Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 14, 1998) at his residence. He was born March 9,1950, in Waynesboro, son of Lovie Coffey Brooks of Stuarts Draft and the late Lawrence E. "Pete" Brooks. He was a member of Sherando Christian Church and was recently retired from Nibco with 28 years of service where he was a quality assurance manager. He was a member of the Nibco's Emergency Action Team and was an avid hunter and NASCAR fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Travis Thornton Brooks, Chad Michael Brooks and Sherrie Ann Brooks, all of Stuarts Draft; one sister, Angel Brooks Lowery and brother-in-law, Jackie R. Lowery, of Stuarts Draft; two nieces, Lindsey and Megan Lowery; two stepsons, Trevor and Tyler Foote of Waynesboro; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Waynesboro chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Dr. Roy O. Creech with burial in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Terrell, Dee Terrell, Ray Martinez, Shane Coffey, Donnie Harris, Jeff Coffey, Danny Painter and Frankie Coyner. Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Eavers, Jim Craig, Donnie Hughes, Mark Angelo, Doug Huffman, David Hughes, Craig Wright, co-workers at Nibco, cousins and friends attending the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 86, Stuarts Draft, Va. 24477.
