Obituary: Nellie Madeline Coffey Source: Staunton News Leader, 14 Dec 1990 Contributor: Wayne Coffey --------------------------------------------------- LYNDHURST -- Nellie Madeline Coffey, 77, of Route 1, Lyndhurst, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 12) in Waynesboro Community Hospital. She was born March 5, 1913 in Nelson County, a daughter of Joseph and Teresa Coffey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston John Coffey, on July 29, 1990. She was a member of the Mountain Christian Church and was retired from Waynesboro Nurseries. Survirors include four daughters, Lea Fitzgerald of Lyndhurst, Naomi Monroe of Waynesboro, Jean Glass of Verona and Bonnie Summers of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Hattie Demastus of Lyndhurst; one brother, Saylor Coffey of Love; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Revs. Charles Ramsey, Tommy Toms and Edward Northrop Jr. Burial will be in the Mountain Top Christian Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Coffey, Billy Coffey, Ralph Hewitt, Dr. Dennis Hatter, Delmas Coffey, William Demastus, Austin Demastus and Clinton Bridge.
